Indo-Pak talks next week



India has signaled its readiness to discuss "all issues" with Pakistan. Indian foreign secretary Nirupama Rao meets her counterpart Salman Bashir in Islamabad on June 24.

Indian is looking at next week's meetings between the Foreign Secretaries and Home Ministers of India and Pakistan as a trust building exercise that could bridge India and Pakistan diplomatically.  Mr. Chidambaram, who is travelling to Pakistan for the SAARC Interior Ministers meeting, will sit with Rehman Malik on June 26.

"We are not going there in an accusatory mode but in exploratory mode," official sources said. Terrorism will certainly be high on the agenda,  the trial for the seven Mumbai accused which is pending in the Pakistani courts is on the top of the list. India is looking at the whole relationship as an integrated subject, reducing truth deficit, joint anti-terrorism.
